Alice Downie
CILEx Paralegal
Alice is a private client and Court of Protection paralegal who joined our team in August 2022.
Alice graduated from the University of Cumbria in 2016, obtaining a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree and is currently completing her CILEx qualifications, working towards qualifying as a CILEx lawyer.
Alice regularly assists clients with the management of personal injury and clinical negligence awards to ensure that those funds are applied in accordance with the best interests principles set out in the Mental Capacity Act 2005. Alice is experienced in dealing with particularly contentious and complex Deputyship matters and financial abuse cases.
Alice also deals with making applications to the Probate Registry and has experience working on complex and contentious probate matters, maintaining independence and professionalism with beneficiaries to ensure estates are administered correctly and efficiently.
